Roaming along the narrow street whose width cannot even accommodate a motorbike, I quietly observe the flourishing city. Beside me, the vine climbs down from the top of the walls like green paint splashed onto an abstract painting and slowly dripped down the canvas.
I realise how cultural diverse this very road is when I reached a café at the conjunction. People here are all dressed in very different clothes, which probably comprise of all the styles available on Earth. Young ladies lie on the benches outside the café, sipping their coffee and gossiping about their lives. Some wear loud, bright blue make-up. Some own the fanciest rings and necklaces that sparkle in the afternoon sun. Some wear tight long dresses, boldly tracing the curves and lines.
In the middle of all the bustling discussions, a brown-and-white dog closes its eyes and licks its nose, immersing itself in the busy crowd. Its fluffy fur gently sways and dances in the breeze.
I guess it loves its hometown. This city. Shanghai.
